If you’re anything like me, it’s all too easy to pour your energy into client work, especially when you genuinely love what you do. For ages, my own brand has quietly waited in the wings, hoping for that magical “when things quieten down” moment. Spoiler: it never really does.
I’m nearly 13 years into business and I’m still putting it at the bottom of the list, so I’m making some changes. Big ones.
Here’s what I’m shifting (and I’m hoping I can stick with it)🤞…
🌸 I’m blocking out time each week just for my own content, starting with one post a day throughout August (except weekends). Whether that’s a Reel, a carousel, or a simple post, I’m committed to showing up for my brand.
🌸 At this point, I’ve got 16 days of posts planned out—which is honestly wild for me. Here’s to following through.
🌸 I’m letting go of perfectionism. Instead, I’m focusing on consistency and care, posting whatever works for me in the moment.
🌸 Most of my content will be reels, with a weekly carousel, an image post, and one reel each week dedicated to a specific content pillar.
🌸 I’m not chasing trends. I’ll be using plenty of B roll clips and putting extra thought into my captions.
🌸 I’m leaning on the same tools and systems I use for clients: using my planners, time blocking, templating, batching, and making progress the priority every single week.
🌸 I’m labelling my posts in my scheduler so I can easily see if I’m varying my content and not just repeating the same topics.
And yes, I’m repurposing the posts from my new Instagram account into emails (starting now). Here’s today’s post that I repurposed into this blog post.
If your brand always seems to come last, you’re not alone. It’s never too late to put yourself first in your business. You deserve it, and so does your brand.
I’d love to know… how are you making space for your own marketing this month? Comment and let me know, or just share what’s working (or not working!) for you. I’m always here to cheer you on.
Here’s to showing up for ourselves 🥂
