How I Planned Out My Email Marketing For The Next 6 Months

Email marketing is something I always struggled with until I created a plan for it that works for me.

I used to procrastinate all the time then I just wouldn’t even send anything to my list, so I was building it by offering free trainings and freebies and stuff but I wasn’t doing anything else with it. I’d sit and procrastinate on sending an email and when I actually did do it, it took me away from everything else for way longer than it should have. Plus I was paying for an email marketing app. Eye roll, Gem. Eye roll.

So, seeing as my social media planner works so well for my clients and my own business’s sporadic approach to social media, I decided to create an Airtable that was just for email marketing and the thing actually works. It actually blimmin’ works!

I have been sending an email every week for 2 months. I’ve really surprised myself with how easy this one tweak changed my mindset towards it

I’m enjoying writing the emails too.

My planner is pretty simple. I plan out my subject lines and a basic email outline and make notes about anything else that I need to mention in that email for that date. (Like if there is something specific happening in my business at that time)

I think writing the subject line out first made the whole thing a little more fun for me too.

Then each week I will sit at my desk and write up some emails. I’m not rigid with it either. I write the one that I feel inspired to write at the time rather than thinking ‘Oh, I’ve gotta write this one next because that one goes out before the other one that I really want to write’

I enjoy the process rather than force myself into a boring, rigid, have-to-do-it-like-this process.

So, I’ve added the template to my shop here. It’s just $9 and I’m going to turn it into a small training at some point so if you want to bag it and get the training and other bits and bobs, I add to it down the line, now is your chance!
